Anjaneyar is a Hindu god and a divine vanara (monkey) companion of the god Rama. He is one of the central characters of the Hindu epic Ramayana and an ardent devotee of Rama. Hanuman is the son of the wind-god Vayu. He is also viewed as the ideal combination of strength, heroic initiative and assertive excellence. He symbolizes the human excellences of inner self-control, faith, and service to a cause. Poojas are conducted for him every Saturday and Moolam Abishegam is conducted monthly. Poojas are conducted for Anjaneyar for all Saturdays in the month of Purattasi.
