Lakshmi who is also known as Shri is one of the principal goddesses in Hinduism. She is the goddess
of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, fertility and prosperity and associated with Maya
("Illusion").
She forms the Tridevi of Hindu goddesses along with Parvati and Saraswati.
Lakshmi is both the consort and the divine energy (shakti) of the Hindu god Vishnu, the Supreme
Being of Vaishnavism. She assists Vishnu to create, protect, and transform the universe. Uthiram
Abishegam is conducted for Lakshmi monthly and poojai during Navarathri festival is conducted for
Lakshmi annually.
